Important Worldwide Eating Disorder Studies Requesting Your Participation

You are invited to participate in an international study on attitudes towards the use of Serious Games in psychotherapy.

Matthew Fleischmann, a PhD student at McGill University studying Counselling Psychology, and Jessica Huss, a PhD student from Germany under the supervision of Professor Christiane Eichenberg, Sigmund Freud University in Austria are conducting this study.

University of Guelph study on individuals who have previously been diagnosed with an Eating Disorder and have made significant improvements in their eating.

If you are over 18, are fluent in English, and have experienced binge eating disorder, OSFED, EDNOS, anorexia, or bulimia, you may be eligible to participate in this online study.

Review for Repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (rTMS)

Health Quality Ontario is currently reviewing Repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (rTMS), a therapy for those with treatment-resistant depression.  A key part of this review is to make sure the lived-experience of patients and families are considered.

This review will result in a recommendation to the Ministry of Health about the public funding of Repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation.  The views, values, and experiences of patient and caregivers are of vital importance to this review.

We are looking to speak to:

• People with experience with treatment-resistant depression, who have sought out therapies such as rTMS or electroconvulsive therapy (ECT).
• Family members/caregivers of people with experience with treatment-resistant depression, who have sought out therapies such as rTMS or electroconvulsive therapy (ECT).

Participants do not need to have received rTMS to participate.

Time Commitment:
15-20 minutes for an interview
Location: Over the phone.  In-person available in GTA if desired.

A University of Calgary one-hour phone interview for 18-25 year olds with Eating Disorders.

U of C researchers are recruiting young adults with Eating Disorders to participate in a one-hour phone interview that will explore how individuals with Eating Disorders imagine their future. Gathering this information may allow Eating Disorder clinicians to understand what interventions are required to help people with Eating Disorders achieve life goals that extend outside of their illness.

In order to participate in the study, participants must be between the ages of 18-25, complete a short screening questionnaire (this will be administered via email prior to the interview), and must be seeking treatment for an Eating Disorder from a healthcare provider (family doctor, psychologist, etc.)
